eSilver Edge Gear Box
The eSilver Edge Gear Box is APS's first electronic gearbox, introduced after years of development, with a focus on performance, reliability and versatility for airsoft guns. This gear box is designed for electric airsoft guns (AEG) and features a number of innovative features:
- Super Dynamic Unit (S.D.U.):
- Integrated programmable microchip (ECU - Electronic Control Unit), version SDU1.0 or SDU2.0, which allows changing firing modes via a button under the gearbox (accessible via magwell). Supports 5 firing modes:
- Mode 1: Safe - Semi - Auto (default)
- Mode 2: Safe - Semi - 3x Burst
- Mode 3: Safe - 2x Burst - Auto
- Mode 4: Safe - 3x Burst - Auto
- Mode 5: Safe - 3x Burst - 9x Burst
- Reset to factory settings (Mode 1) with double button press or battery disconnect.
- Micro Switch Trigger:
- Provides lightning fast trigger response - 0.02 seconds, with a lifetime of approximately 200,000 presses. Short trigger stroke eliminates delay in firing.
- Low power consumption:
- Operates stably at voltages from 7.4V to 12.5V, with constant current below 11 amps, reducing battery drain and extending component life.
- Durability and materials:
- Housing is reinforced and spring-loaded to M190.
- Piston with full steel teeth and aluminium head with bearings.
- Steel gears with magnetic design, compatible with TM (Tokyo Marui) standard, 18:1 gear ratio.
- 8 mm bearings for smooth operation and reduced friction.
- Flexibility and ambidexterity:
- Supports ambidextrous designs (for left and right hand), which is unique to the electronic gearbox market. Compatible with V2 gearboxes.
- Electric Blow Back (EBB) function:
- Defaults to no recoil, but can be easily switched to EBB by changing the recoil plate without the need for special tools.
- Damage protection:
- Built-in MOSFET stops the gearbox at high current (>5 amps for more than 5 shots) to prevent damage from defects such as short circuit or damaged motor.
- Temperature resistance:
- Electronic components operate from -20°C to 80°C and mechanical components from -40°C to 85°C, making it suitable for extreme conditions.
- Additional features:
- Quick spring change system with guide spring that has 4 locking legs instead of the standard 2 for greater stability.
- The rear cables are PET braided for added protection.
